New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have become the winners of IPL 2021, with many players contributing to the team's historic victory. But Chennai's victory has sparked off organically in South Africa. Behind the uproar is a post by Cricket South Africa (CSA) in which he congratulated Lungi Ngidi of CSK on winning the title. That's what people are furious about.
In fact, many South African players play in Chennai Super Kings. Among them are Faf du Plessis, Lungi Ngidi and Imran Tahir. Faf du Plessis played a brilliant inning in the final match and played a key role in the team's victory. But Cricket South Africa took to Twitter and Instagram to congratulate only Lungi Ngidi. That too when he was not part of the final XI. Earlier, Faf du Plessis also expressed surprise over CSA's post and commented on the post: "really?"
CSA now blocked the comments section.— Dale Steyn (@DaleSteyn62) October 16, 2021
Here’s some advice.
Do the right thing.
Delete the post and add all the men involved, save yourself the embarrassment and ridicule.
Apart from Faf, former South African pacer Dale Steyn also slammed his board. Dale Steyn tweeted that it has become necessary to talk to whoever is running Cricket South Africa's Facebook and Instagram. CSA later closed his comment section, to which Dale Steyn said 'Here’s some advice. Do the right thing. Delete the post and add all the men involved, save yourself the embarrassment and ridicule.'
