RAJKOT: A criminal case has been registered against Swaminarayan Sect's sadhu Anand Sagar over his alleged controversial statment on Lord Shiva.

The sadhu allegedly "insulted" Lord Shiva and offended people during one of his speeches, according to the Sanatani Brahma Samaj.

Members of the Brahmin community Jasmin Madhak, Hardik Pathak, Niraj Joshi, and others were in possession of a video clip of Swaminarayan Sect Sadhu Anand Sagar on Whatsapp, according to Mihir Shukla's complaint to the Rajkot B-division police station.

In the said video clip, the sadhu can be seen telling the devotees that his guru Prabodh Swami appeared before one of his disciples named Nishit. When Lord Shiva arrived at the gate where the devotee was standing, the devotee asked him to ask his Guru Prabodh swami for blessings. Lord Shiva caressed Nitish's feet and remarked that he was not particularly fortunate to see Prabodh swami.

As per the complaint, the sadhu insulted Lord Shiva and wounded the feelings of Sanatani Brahmins. Police Sub Inspector P A Gohel is looking into the situation.

The incident is described as follows: "Nishit goes to the gate as directed by Prabodha Swami, where he sees Lord Shiva waiting outside the gate. Nishit asks lord Shiva to, "Please come with me and meet Prabodha Swami.' But lord Shiva refuses, saying, "My piety has not grown up to that level that I can see a holy image of Prabodha Swami.
