The central government is also going to make it optional. The state government is waiting for this notification from the center. It will be implemented as soon as the notification arrives. Responding to a calling attention motion of the opposition, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala also claimed that the government is deeply concerned about the farmers' crop and that the farmers get timely compensation for the crop damaged due to their disaster, it is also serious about it.

According to the information received, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant said that from the year 2014-15 till date, the present state government has so far drought, flood, heavy rainfall, fire, hail, attacks by pests and various natural disasters like cold wave and frost. Compensation of Rs 2695.54 crore has been given to the farmers due to damage to crops. Regarding this, he said that under the order issued on June 4, 2019, dust storm, lightning sparking, sky lightning, and heat, etc have been declared as local calamities and help is provided by the state government for the damage caused by it.

He has said that the amount given by the State Government is more than the compensation amount given by the Government of India. Regarding the demand for compensation for loss of standing crops of wheat, mustard and vegetables due to hailstorms and rains in Sonipat and Kurukshetra, Deputy Chief Minister said that during the period of 2020, rainfall and hailstorm events were received in district Sonepat and Kurukshetra.
