This powerful cyclone made landfall in coastal Gujarat on Thursday night before moving towards Rajasthan. The impact of the cyclone has caused significant changes in weather patterns and resulted in various incidents throughout the region. In this article, we will explore the effects of Cyclone Biparjoy and its aftermath in Udaipur and other affected areas.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Biparjoy weakened into a 'Deep Depression' on June 16 as it reached Southeast Pakistan, adjoining Southwest Rajasthan, and Kutch. Its position was approximately 100 km northeast of Dholavira. Subsequently, the cyclone made its way towards Rajasthan after its landfall in Gujarat. The IMD predicts that the cyclone will further weaken into a 'Depression' within the next 12 hours.

Udaipur, a city in Rajasthan, experienced significant rainfall and gusty winds due to the influence of Cyclone Biparjoy. There have been reports and videos showcasing the aftermath of the storm. One video captured the moment when glass fell from a building's second floor, damaging a couple of cars parked below. This incident highlights the strength of the winds that accompanied the cyclone.

Another affected region, Bhuj in Kutch, witnessed several uprooted trees due to the cyclone's impact. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) promptly responded to this situation and conducted clearance work to ensure the safety of the local residents. Their efforts aimed to restore normalcy and mitigate further risks caused by fallen trees.

Cyclone Biparjoy originated in the Arabian Sea and traversed along the west coast of India before making landfall. The landfall occurred on Thursday night, approximately 10 km north of the Jakhau Port in Kutch. To ensure the safety of the people, six NDRF teams evacuated a total of 127 civilians from Rupen Bandar Government Primary School. The evacuated group, consisting of 82 men, 27 women, and 15 children, were relocated to NDH School in Dwarka.

Anticipating heavy rains for the next two to three days, the Western Railways took precautionary measures in cyclone-prone areas. As a result, they decided to cancel or partially cancel the operation of a few trains. This step aimed to prevent any potential risks and ensure the well-being of passengers and staff members.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel convened a meeting at the State Emergency Operations Centre in Gandhinagar to assess the situation following the cyclone's landfall. The government took proactive steps to evaluate the impact, coordinate relief efforts, and address any immediate requirements arising from the cyclone's aftermath.

The effects of Cyclone Biparjoy have been felt in Udaipur and other parts of Rajasthan, causing strong winds and heavy rainfall. While the cyclone has weakened, it is crucial to remain vigilant and follow the instructions provided by the authorities.
