Cyclone Gulab hits Odisha coast, 6 fishermen missing

Cyclone Gulab is likely to hit the coasts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh today. This was recently informed by the India Meteorological Department. The Met department said the coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh are fully prepared in view of cyclone 'Gulab'. The Met department has also informed that the high pressure over the Bay of Bengal turned into a cyclonic storm 'Gulab' on Saturday, issuing an 'orange' alert for the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha.

Meanwhile, a warning has been issued in parts of southern Odisha where cyclone Gulab is likely to wreak havoc. Let me tell you all that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhubaneswar says, "The cyclone Gulab hitting the coast has started from Sunday evening and it may continue for about 3 hours. Another official, besides him, said, "The wind speed of the cyclone is about 90 kmph while hitting the coast. The process has affected the terrain between Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Gopalpur in Odisha. ''

According to recent information, six fishermen who had gone to the Bay of Bengal from Srikakulam, the northern coastal district of Andhra Pradesh, were reported missing last Sunday evening. At the same time, cyclone Gulab is moving towards the coast and is expected to hit the coast at midnight. The rose storm is said to be causing moderate rainfall in three coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh namely Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam. It is also reported that the landslide process started at around 6 pm last yesterday.
