Ahmedabad: The threat of devastation from the 'Vayu' cyclone is again looming large over the coastal districts of Gujarat. The wind that turned westward on Thursday could rebound again on Sunday. The Union Geological Ministry has issued a warning saying that it is likely to hit Kutch area of Gujarat due to this.

"The air may come back on June 16 and hit Kutch in Gujarat between June 17-18," ministry secretary M Rajeevan said. Earlier on Friday morning, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had appealed to 2.75 lakh people shifted from coastal areas to return home.

At the same time, the Chief Minister had ordered top officials to arrange homecoming of the affected people during a meeting in Gandhinagar. It had also announced an expenditure of about Rs 5.5 crore by the government to provide daily expenses to all of them for the next three days.
