A lover in Barnala, has tried to turn the murder of his girlfriend into a suicide. The accused killed the girl and threw her on the railway track on May 18. Railway Police in-charge Jagjit Singh Sidhu said that the case of the body of the girl found on the railway track has been solved.  She said the girl had left home on May 18 to work at a saloon in Barnala as usual but did not reach home till evening. On the information of her family members, when the girl was searched, her body was found near Handia on the railway track. At that time, a case of murder was registered against the unidentified person and an investigation was initiated. Because preliminary investigation suo-day investigation sat in the case of murder.

He said that during investigation it was found that the deceased Jagdeep Kaur had an affair with Jagseer Singh's son Sakminder Singh resident Handia. Now the young woman was adamant on marrying her boyfriend, but he was procrastinating and trying to get rid of her. As a result, on May 18, Jagseer Singh called his girlfriend Jagdeep Kaur to meet her and she went to her boyfriend instead of going to the salon. The criminal put him in his car and took him to a deserted place somewhere far away. There, he put her in conversation and sedated the girl by hitting her in the head with something stony and later strangled her to death with her scarf. The body was then lying on the back seat of the train and trew on the railway track.

Railway Police in-charge Jagjit Singh Sidhu said jagseer Singh has been detained and brought before a local court and questioned and remanded to police custody till May 24.
