Lucknow: A case of the rape of a Dalit girl on the pretext of marriage has come to light in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. Here, a young man raped the victim many times in the name of marriage and forced her to have an abortion when she became pregnant. Now the young man has turned away from the marriage and threatened to kill her, which drove the victim away. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the accused.

According to media reports, a Dalit girl from a village in the Khaga Kotwali area has told the police in a complaint that she is related to Ankit Vishwakarma, a resident of Paharpur. Both of them used to work for a company in Ahmedabad. Ankit tricked her into getting married, and then both of them started living together. On the pretext of marriage, he continued to have physical relations with her; during this time, the victim became pregnant, and the accused got her aborted by giving her medicines.

It is alleged that the young man is now going to get married again. When the victim spoke, the accused refused to marry her and threatened to kill her for harassing her. The inspector-in-charge, JP Shahi, has informed that the accused is being searched after registering a case under several serious sections, including rape, SC/ST, threatening to kill, and abortion.
