New Delhi: Darul-Uloom Deoband is not satisfied with the Home Ministry's clarification in Parliament and the Vice-Chancellor here has said that the sit-in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) should continue. Darul-Uloom Vice-Chancellor Abul Qasim Nomani called the NRC and CAA a national and community issue and said that the subject should be taken seriously.

Describing the movement as effective, Nomani said that the ongoing protests should continue throughout the country. Kasim Nomani has also linked the dharna to the cleanliness of the government which has nothing on the NRC in the Parliament. Nomani said that this is the effect of the nationwide movement, which the government used to talk about not moving even an inch, it is now coming back on the NRC.

Kasim Nomani also clarified on the viral video on the basis of which it is claimed that Darul-Uloom has appealed to Deoband to end the ongoing protest against CAA. Nomani has said, "My video which is going viral on social media is of a meeting with the district administration, in which there was a discussion about peace in Deoband city." While it is being said that Darul-Uloom has asked to end the picket. This is completely baseless and propaganda. Darul-Uloom has not released any such appeal.
