New Delhi: Following an improvement in the city's Covid situation, DDMA authorities withdrew all restrictions on Monday, allowing full passenger capacity to resume on the Delhi Metro.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said on Friday that all Covid restrictions will be lifted on Monday, the fine for not wearing masks will be reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500, and physical education programs in schools will start on April 1. "For the first time in a long period, Delhi Metro services have restarted today without any limits on passenger capacity," the DMRC said in a statement.

"The DMRC expresses its gratitude to its passengers for adhering to the pandemic protocols." Indeed, despite the pandemic's limits, we could not have operated the metro without your help," it stated. The Delhi Metro, in a tweet, stated that it will continue to do its best in the days ahead to deliver a safe and enjoyable travel.

"However, keep in mind that Covid is far from done. Let us follow the necessary rules such as wearing masks, proper social distancing, and frequent hand sanitization to guarantee a safe journey," it wrote. The DMRC also stated that it will continue to provide passengers with the greatest degree of hygiene and sanitation. Trains and stations are sanitized on a regular basis, and all requirements are strictly adhered to, according to the statement.
