Covid's panic has put an end to our social fabric. People are so scared that they are not even ready to help anyone in times of disaster. Something similar happened to a young man named Laxman Tiwari in Burari area. His entire family became infected with covid. Within a few hours, both the parents lost their lives, the wife is fighting for life in the hospital. It is learnt that at that time when Lakshman sought help from neighbours and relatives for the funeral of his parents, no one came to his aid. The bodies were lying in the house for 15 hours. Sadiq and Ertija, who run NGO in Old Delhi, somehow put pressure on the police to cremate the body of the elderly couple.

According to reports, Laxman Tiwari, originally from Ghazipur, UP, lives with his family in 71-72, Shakti Enclave Burari. He is survived by an 80-year-old father, a 67-year-old mother, as well as a wife and a 4-year-old son. Everyone in the house was unwell for the past few days. Laxman's wife has been admitted to a hospital in Burari as her health has worsened.

The health of the parents in the house had also deteriorated. The mother's oxygen suddenly started receding on Monday. At 5 p.m., the mother lost her life, the father also left at one o'clock in the night. Laxman sought help from the people after he himself was covid positive. Neighbours and relatives were not ready for any help. Irtija Qureshi and Sadiq Ahmed, who run the NGO, came to know about it and reached Laxman's house. When the ambulance drivers were interacted with, they are demanding 25,000 rupees for delivering the bodies to Nigam Bodh Ghat. The police also raised their hands. In the morning, under pressure from the media and others, the police agreed to help. However, police officials are denying such allegations. Janha, he says, got the information at nine in the morning. Sukhbir and Sepoy Pradeep were sent to the ASI Burari police station on the spot. The men made arrangements to transport the bodies to Nigam Bodh Ghat. After which Laxman Tiwari himself performed the last rites of his parents.
