New Delhi: The Indian National Congress was established on December 28, 1885. Earlier, the Chairman was Vyomesh Chandra Banerjee, who was a barrister of the Calcutta High Court. Banerjee was one of the early people who laid the foundation of the Congress. Let's take a look at his life.

Vyomesh Chandra Banerjee was born on 29th December 1844 in an upper-middle-class noble Brahmin family in Calcutta. His father was a jurist in the Calcutta High Court. In 1859, they were married to Hemangini Motilal. Then the year 1862 W.P. The Attorneys of Calcutta Supreme Court worked as clerks. In 1864, he was awarded the R.J. of Bombay. Jijabai sent to England with a scholarship.

On his return to Kolkata in 1868, he got a job in the Calcutta High Court, Sir Charles Paul, Barrister-at-Law. In no time, he became one of the eminent lawyers of the High Court. He was also president of the Calcutta University of Law Faculty.  Vyomesh was such a staunch follower of the English gimmick that he himself encompassed his family name 'Banerjee' and disbanded him.

He also named his son 'Shelley', which was more prevalent in the British. But even after all this, he was a true Indian with his heart. He was elected president of the first session of the Indian National Congress in 1885. He was then re-elected as the President of the Congress session held in Allahabad in 1892.

According to media reports, in 1902, he moved to England. At the end of his death in 1906, he continued to promote the movement of the Indian National Congress. One of the key characters of the early stages of the national movement in the country. He also tried to enter the British Parliament but failed. In 1893, He along with Dadabhai Naoroji and Badruddin Tayyabji formed the Indian Parliamentary Committee in England. Veteran leader and nationalist Vyomesh Chandra Banerjee said goodbye to the world on July 21, 1906.
