Today is the death anniversary of mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. He died on 26 April 1920. Ramanujan was from a very poor family. He didn't even have money to fulfill his hobbies. It is famous that Ramanujan could solve a mathematical problem in more than 100 ways. This specialty has given him the status of Mathematics Guru in the world.

Srinivasa Ramanujan's childhood was not like other children. He was born on 22 December 1887. He could not speak till the age of 3, due to which his parents started worrying whether Ramanujan was dumb or not. He was rich in prodigious talent. His talent has never been dependent on age. Ramanujan's life lasted only for 33 years.  

Ramanujan's early studies started in Tamil language. Initially, his mind was never towards studies. But going ahead, secured the first position in the entire district in the primary examination. For further studies, he went to higher secondary school for the first time, from where he started studying mathematics. Ramanujan was fond of asking questions since childhood. And sometimes he used to ask such questions that the teachers' minds were confused. But he had a lot of curiosity to know any questions. It is said that he used to ask such questions to his teachers as 'Who was the first human being in the world? What is the distance between the sky and the earth? How deep and how big is the ocean?

Ramanujan used to study so much in mathematics that he could not pay any attention to other subjects. As a result of which once it happened that in the 11th examination, he topped in Mathematics while could not pass in all other subjects. After breaking up with studies, some years of Ramanujan's life were spent in a lot of struggle.
