New Delhi: The day of December 12 has a different relationship with the existence of Delhi, the capital of India. In fact, on this day in 1911, it was decided to replace Calcutta with Delhi as the capital of the country. King Rani of Britain was on a visit to India at that time and announced at the Delhi Durbar on the outskirts of Delhi that Delhi would now replace Calcutta, the capital of India.

1882: Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's Bengali novel 'Anand Math' published'.
1911: Delhi was announced to be the capital of India instead of Calcutta (now Kolkata).

2015: The United Nations Conference in Paris led to a historic agreement on climate change, in which 195 countries agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The agreement replaced the Kyoto Agreement.
