New Delhi: While the cold wave continues to intensify, the rain havoc on the other hand is not going down. The India Meteorological Department has warned that there will be rain for the next 4-5 days. In addition, fog will also prevail in some areas. Snowfall has also been predicted in hilly areas, which may aggravate the problem of people. According to the Met department, the western disturbance will cause rain. The influence of western disturbances will be visible in the western Himalayan region on December 13. This may lead to rain and snowfall.

The effect of Western Disturbances in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh will be seen between December 13 and 15. In addition, south India may also witness an outbreak of rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, South Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala will receive rain in the next 4-5 days. The Met department (IMD) has issued an alert for the same.

It may be noted that the impact of fog will also be visible in some parts of India. In the northwestern part of India and Odisha, people may face fog for 2-3 hours in the morning. Due to snowfall, the effect of the cold wave has started appearing in Kashmir gradually. The mercury has gone below zero in many areas. It is freezing cold in almost all the districts of the Valley including Srinagar. According to the Meteorological Department, light snowfall is expected in the upper areas of the valley and rain in the plains on December 15, but till then the weather will remain clear. The night temperature is likely to drop further due to clear skies. For the coming few days, people are not expecting any relief from the cold.
