Mumbai: The name of the underworld is coming to the fore in the incident of decorating the grave of Yakub Memon. It is alleged that the underworld on behalf of Yakub Memon had threatened the Jumma Masjid Bombay Trust and told that permission should be given to decorate Yakub Memon's grave in the Bada graveyard. This has been disclosed by the former trustee of Bada Cemetery. The trustee alleges that when he did not listen to him, he said that Tiger Memon himself will call you and talk to you.

A former trustee of Bada graveyard in front of Marine Lines station in South Mumbai has alleged that the threat man asked that Yakub's grave be allowed to be beautified. Another trustee of the cemetery, Jazil Navrane, had also objected to the beautification of Yakub Memon's grave. Both alleged that they were dismissed from their posts for opposing the request. He had also filed a case in the Waqf Board regarding the rigging going on in the Bada graveyard. The threatening person claimed to be a member of the Memon family. He gave his name as Mohammad Memon.

The threat came in the name of Tiger Memon, brother of Yakub, who was absconding after the Mumbai bombings and working in Dawood Ibrahim's D Company in Karachi, Pakistan. A person associated with the Bada Cemetery Trust of Mumbai has given this news to the Mumbai Police. It was told in the threat that if Tiger Memon's words are not obeyed, then such people will be deported from this world. The same when the officer related to the cemetery told the person named Mohammad Memon, who had threatened, that it was not in his right to get the tomb decorated. So the caller said, 'Yakub Bhai has been martyred. Tiger is still alive.
