Srinagar: In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress has now started counting the benefits of veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad leaving the party. Congress leaders say that after the departure of Ghulam Nabi, now the state unit of the Congress will be able to improve. At the same time, Azad also announced the launch of his party in the Union Territory. However, so far the situation is not clear about the name and date of the party. Azad quit Congress on August 26 after working hard for it for 50 years.

According to media reports, Congress leaders say that Azad's departure has cleared the way for reforms in the state Congress. Leaders say the process was stalled for fear of people getting upset. Congress spokesperson Jahanzaid Sirwal said the party high command will soon appoint a team for Jammu and Kashmir Congress president Vikar Rasool and working president Raman Bhalla.

According to media reports, the senior party leader has said that the presence of leaders with Azad is only a media story, which will soon weaken. He said that out of those leaders, only GM Mansoori's side is strong. He had managed to save his seat in the year 2014 even after the Narendra Modi wave. He said that many leaders who stood by Azad were also facing various allegations and this has cleared the way for more leaders to enter the party with a clean image.
