A 15-member delegation of diplomats on Friday visited Assam Agricultural University (AAU) in Jorhat. The team includes ambassadors and a consulate general, representing 10 nations, mostly from Asia and Africa. They held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor of AAU Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka and other top researchers of the varsity.
The delegation visited several departments of the University and also the NEATEHUB (North East Technology Entrepreneurship Hub), an Atal incubation centre inside the campus. The delegation held discussions on exchange of students and researchers.
Vice-Chancellor of AAU Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka said that if required, agreements with individual countries could be made in regards to cooperation in agriculture education and research. He further said that the University is one of the oldest agricultural varsities of the Country.
