New Delhi: The capital, which has been facing the problem of pollution since the beginning of October, has now got some relief. This relief is due to increased wind speed. Pollution and haze have been slightly lower than before due to increased wind speeds. However, the air quality still remains in the poor category.
Air quality in the country's capital Delhi has been recorded in the poor category on Monday. Government agencies said that air quality index could fall in a very poor category due to changes in wind direction in some days and a fall in speed. The 24-hour average of AQI in Delhi is recorded at 244. The air quality is considered to be 'good' between 0 and 50, 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'bad', 301 to 400 'very poor' and 401 to 500 'serious'.
The Delhi government is constantly making efforts to reduce air pollution. As part of the campaign against 'War Pollution', the Delhi Government has come up with a plan to convert the 'Red Light on Cart Off' campaign in Delhi into a mass movement. In order to reduce vehicular pollution, the government is now starting the Red Light on Cart off campaign from October 21 to November 15 at the grassroots level and during this time no enforcement action will be taken.
