The surcharge has been increased from 3.80% to 5%. Consumers' bills are going to be slightly higher than before. However, for the purpose of promoting mushroom cultivation, the Commission has reduced the rate of electricity in the mushroom farming category from Rs 6.50 / kWh to Rs 3.50 / kWh.
