New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal is in the news these days by demanding the printing of pictures of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on Indian currency, meanwhile, a report has come out exposing him. In fact, an RTI has revealed that CM Kejriwal has given about Rs 101 crore to the Delhi Waqf Board.

Of the Rs 101 crore given by Kejriwal to the Delhi Waqf Board during his seven-year tenure, Rs 62 crore has been given in the last one year. At the same time, Rs 22 crore 72.50 lakh was provided in the year 2019-20. Earlier, in 2018-19, 8 crores 85 lakh 69 thousand rupees were given. According to the reply received in the RTI, in the year 2015-16, the Kejriwal government of Delhi gave Rs 1.25 crore to the Delhi Waqf Board. After this, this amount continued to increase every year. Rs 1.37 crore was provided in 2016-17 and Rs 5 crore in 2017-18. However, in 2020-21, the Delhi government did not give any money to the Waqf Board. This was the same year when Corona was wreaking havoc in the country.

According to information obtained by RTI activist Ajay Bose, the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi has given an average public amount of about Rs 14.50 crore per year to the Delhi Waqf Board. This money handed over by the Delhi government to the Waqf Board belongs to the general public, but to shine its vote bank politics, this money was handed over to a particular community.
