New Delhi: The court has granted bail to social activist Khalid Saifi, accused in the communal riots case that erupted in north-east Delhi. Apart from the Saifee riots, the case was also registered under the Arms Act. The court in its judgment said that the investigation against the accused has been completed. There is no apprehension of tampering with his evidence. There is no problem in sanctioning the bail of the accused.
However, even after the court order, the accused Saifee will not be released from jail as a separate case of conspiracy to riot against him is under consideration. The Court of Additional sessions Judge Amitabh Rao, who was in the case, granted Saifee's bail and said the investigation into the case has been completed. There is no prospect of tampering with evidence and facts when the accused is released on bail.
All the documents pertaining to the investigation are in the court with the letter, so the accused is being granted bail in the case. The court granted bail to the accused Saifee on the basis of a personal bond of Rs. 50 thousand and a surety of the same amount. However, the accused Saifee will not be able to go out of jail even after getting bail. A separate case has been registered against him by the special cell of Delhi Police under the conspiracy of Delhi riots. The case is registered against him under the Unlawful (Prevention) Act.
