New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said on Friday that no private school is allowed to increase the fees during the coronavirus shutdown. Only tuition fee should be charged till the school opens. Sisodia, while addressing a press conference, said, "We have received many complaints about increase in fees by schools and traffic charges are also being charged which are not even being used during the bandh." Schools are not allowed to charge more than tuition fee."

Education Minister Manish Sisodia clarified that traffic charges, annual fees or any other charges cannot be recovered during the bandh which will continue till May 3. He said, "No school can charge a fee of three months at a time. This fee will be charged according to the month. Schools are instructed to pay salaries to all employees, including contractual employees, they can contact their parent organizations for funds. ''

He said that no student can be prevented from joining the online class in any case, whether the fee is collected or not.
