New Delhi: The excise department of the Delhi government has issued a unique order. As per the order of the Excise Department, a time limit has been fixed for serving alcohol in the bar. It will now be mandatory to use open bottle liquor in the licensed bar within three to eight days. The stock must expire within seven days of the expiry of the deadline.

According to the new order issued by the Delhi government, open bottles of beer, wine and champagne must be scrapped within 3 days. Apart from these, liquor bottles up to Rs.1500 will have to be sold within 5 days. The usage deadline for bottled liquor slated for Rs.1500 to Rs. 6000 has been fixed at 8 days.

In fact, the Delhi government had received a complaint that such bottles were being adulterated and refilled and sold. Many times, new stocks were used in place of old stocks, which is in violation of rules. Now according to the government's order, all bottles will be considered used after the expiry of the time period. The order will begin to take effect from August 31.
