New Delhi: An alert has been issued by the Coast Guard to all Ports and Ships Owners of the Gulf of Kutch. Intelligence sources said that some commandos trained from Pakistan may infiltrate into the maritime areas of the Gulf of Kutch. In view of this, security agencies have asked Gujarat's major Port Adani Port, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay (Kandla) Port, Pipavav Port, and Seaside Refinery to remain on alert.
BSF, Indian Coast Guard, and other security agencies have also been ordered to remain vigilant. All ports have appealed to their shipholder to comply with safety rules. The Indian Coast Guard says these commands also specialize in underwater attack. Coastguard has also shared this information with private companies to take security measures. "It is directed to take extreme security measures and prevent any untoward situation in Gujarat," the Adani company said in a statement.
All ships at Mundra port have been asked to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the Maritime Control Station and Port Operation Centre immediately. The move comes days after Pakistan deployed medium-range artillery on the LoC and deployed its troops on the LoC. When it came to ceasefire violations, Pakistan had earlier used small arms. India has used Bofors to enhance Pakistan's efforts to destabilize the LOC.
