New Delhi: If you live in Delhi-NCR and are unable to give up on your first car, be careful because this news is only for you. Having an old car here means a 10-year-old diesel or a 15-year-old petrol car, because it will now be costly to run on the streets of Delhi. These car owners will be fined Rs 10,000 by the Delhi government.

The transport department is also gearing up for the mission the government has prepared to accomplish. According to media reports, when it comes to Delhi's road traffic alert, the transport department has announced that the 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol variants should be scraped soon, otherwise action will be taken against the owners of such cars.

According to the departmental order, 'A fine of Rs. 10,000 will be imposed by the traffic police if such a car is seen plying on the road, along with which the vehicle will be seized. The car will be returned to the vehicle owners only after they give an affidavit that the train will not run and will be scraped in future.'
