Today, several states in north India, including the capital Delhi, are facing severe heatwaves these days. Heatwave conditions may occur in parts of Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, west Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha and isolated parts of Jharkhand. According to Skymet Weather, the monsoon is likely to remain active over northeast India and remain weak over the south peninsula. Sikkim, the north-eastern part of the country and the Andaman And the Nicobar Islands are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places with light to moderate rain.

Apart from this, light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Kerala, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and some parts of Tamil Nadu. Rainfall activity may increase in south-central Maharashtra, Marathwada and north interior Karnataka and these areas may receive heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur in Tamil Nadu, eastern parts and north-eastern parts of Bihar, parts of Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and one or two parts of Lakshadweep and Telangana. With this, scattered light rain is possible in eastern parts of Gujarat, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, not in Madhya Maharashtra.
