New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday appealed to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to set up more testing centers in view of the rise in corona cases in Delhi. More than 24,000 cases of corona infection have been reported in Delhi in the last few days. Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh have also directed the Delhi government to make necessary arrangements to streamline the process of collecting samples.

Several lawyers have informed the bench that they are facing problems getting the test done as laboratories say they will collect samples after two to three days. This has been ordered by the court. Lawyers claimed that more than one lakh testing was being carried out in the first one day, which has now come down to 60,000 per day. On the other hand, the High Court has directed Delhi hospitals not to insist on giving RT-PCR positive reports while admitting patients.

Delhi's Kejriwal government has told the court that its health department has issued a circular on April 23 directing city hospitals not to stick to the demand for submitting a covid positive test report while admitting patients with coronavirus infection symptoms.
