New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday stayed the hearing in the Lower Court in the National Herald case seeking an answer on the plea of BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy, interim president of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and others accused in the case. In fact, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has challenged the decision of the Lower Court in the National Herald case in the Delhi High Court.
The lower court had denied permission to run the case against the interim president of Congress Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and others, based on the key evidence presented in her petition. Justice Suresh Kait has asked Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretaries Oscar Fernandes, Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda, and 'Young India' (YI) to respond to Swamy's plea by 12 April.
Advocate Satya Sabharwal, appearing for the BJP MP and lawyer Tarannum Cheema, appearing for the Gandhi family and others, confirmed the issuance of the High Court notice and adjournment of the hearing till April 12. Subramanian Swamy, in a private criminal complaint filed in Lower Court, accused Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, among others, of conspiring to fraudulently and improperly acquire money through the National Herald.
