New Delhi: The debate on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been going on for a long time. A hearing on the Uniform Civil Code is going to be held in Delhi High Court today. The Delhi High Court had asked the central government to file an answer on the matter. The Delhi High Court will hear on this important matter. Earlier in the last hearing, the Delhi High Court had asked the Center to respond to the Uniform Citizenship Code, when the Center said that they should be given some more time.

The central government had said that this is a big issue, the government can file its answer in the court only after considering all the points related to this matter. Many petitions have been filed in the Delhi High Court regarding the creation and drafting of the Judicial Commission on the Uniform Civil Code. Earlier, the Home Ministry has sought time from the court 5 times. The Delhi High Court is hearing several petitions simultaneously.

Uniform Civil Code or Uniform Civil Code (UCC) demands a uniform law for the people of the whole country. If this law comes into force then a common law will be made for people of all religions and castes. Right now people of different religions in the country have different personal laws.
