New Delhi: In the capital of the country, the price of alcohol is not expected to decrease yet. Kejriwal's cabinet has postponed the proposal to withdraw 70 percent corona cess on liquor. Earlier there was speculation that the government has decided to withdraw 70% Corona Cess. However, no formal notification was issued in this regard.

It is noteworthy that liquor sales started in Delhi during the third phase of lockdown. On May 4, such crowds thronged liquor shops and the social distancing of the crowd took off. The police had to resort to lathicharge. After this, the Kejriwal government decided to impose 70 percent corona cess on liquor in Delhi from May 5. Even after imposing a corona charge on liquor, a huge crowd was seen at the shops for several days.

Many cases of liquor smuggling also came to light in Delhi. Smugglers found out new ways to smuggle liquor in Delhi during lockdown for more profit. Smugglers did not stop smuggling liquor on the pretext of loading vegetables in trains. Recently, the Tigri police station arrested such smugglers.
