New Delhi: L-G V K Saxena wrote to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, accusing him of engaging in "low level language" and making "misleading and insulting remarks" in the ongoing power struggle involving two constitutional functionaries of Delhi.

Along with his deputy Manish Sisodia and AAP MLAs, Kejriwal was accused by the Delhi L-G of engaging in "political posturing" during their march to Raj Niwas on January 16.

Saxena claimed to have scheduled a meeting with Kejriwal. However, the Chief Minister declined to go under the excuse that he wanted to meet with him and all of his MLAs.

A meeting with 70 to 80 individuals at once would not have been feasible given the short notice and abrupt demand on Kejriwal's part, according to him, and it would not have served any useful purpose. Sadly, you continued to take the politically expedient stance that "the LG refused to meet me," Saxena said.

The L-G wrote to Kejriwal, "I must mention here that I was rather astounded at the fact that you found time to walk for a long time and stage a protest meant solely for posturing, rather than taking the issue to a logical conclusion by meeting me, even as the city is grappling with several serious developmental issues.

Saxena responded to Kejriwal's criticism of him two days prior in the Assembly by saying, "As to 'who is LG' and 'where did he come from', can be answered, if you were to even cursorily refer to the Constitution of India, others do not deserve a reply, since they obviously cater to a very low level of discourse.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, retaliated, saying that LG V K Saxena was engaging in shady politics rather than taking action to enhance the city's law-and-order situation.
