New Delhi: A teenager was stabbed to death by two minors in Delhi's Baljit Nagar area for opposing the molestation of his sister, police said on Sunday. The incident took place on Friday (October 28) night. Patel Nagar police have registered a case on the complaint of the deceased's father and detained the two minors. The deceased's father Chandan Singh Negi lives with the family in Baljit Nagar. He does the job of repairing printers, scanners and photocopy machines.  

Chandan's 17-year-old son Manoj was studying at ITI Pusa. Chandan's younger daughter used to be sledged by two teenagers living in the neighbourhood while coming to school. On this, Manoj had beaten both of them. At that time, the two minors had threatened revenge. Manoj was going to coaching on Friday night. Meanwhile, on the way, the two minors stabbed him with a knife. The entire incident was recorded in a CCTV camera installed in the street. In the footage, Manoj is seen running to save himself, but the attackers are also running and stabbing him. Bleeding from the knife blow, Manoj falls down and the accused run away.  

Manoj ran towards his house to save himself but fell there after being stabbed. Hearing her screams, father Chandan Singh Negi rushed to the spot and took the son to the hospital. Meanwhile, Manoj had told him about molesting his sister. Manoj was admitted to the hospital, where he died. When the attackers were attacking Manoj, people did not make any effort to save him but kept watching the spectacle.

The police handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem. Manoj was then cremated. The family also had high expectations from Manoj. The family has demanded that the accused be tried like adults. Manoj's family alleged that the police were shielding an adult accused. DCP Shweta Chauhan has said that the family did not give a complaint of molestation or sexual harassment. An investigation is on and action will be taken accordingly.
