Dragged far after being hit by a car, absconding .., now former IAS and his son arrested

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested a retired IAS and his son in a hit-and-run case in the national capital. The case pertains to Greater Kailash in South Delhi, where a retired IAS and his son, who was riding the car, had dragged a young man for a long-distance after hitting him with his car. The man was badly injured in it. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

The name of the retired IAS has been mentioned as P Sundaram and the name of the son is said to be Raja Sundaram. The son of a retired IAS is studying advocacy. The police nabbed the duo from outside the Le Meridian Hotel in Gurugram, Haryana. An FIR has been lodged against the duo under other sections, including an attempt to murder. Sections 307, 308 and 212 of the IPC have been invoked. A case was registered under non-bailable sections, however, they have now been granted bail.

Both of them got injured first by dragging the young man with their speeding car. Then ran away from there. After the incident, the young man was admitted to the hospital for treatment. The injured youth was identified as 37-year-old Anand Vijay Mandeliya. Both the former IAS and son were present in the car at the time of the incident. According to the information, the man was dragged on the bonnet for about 400 meters.
