New Delhji: After a brief exchange of fire in north Delhi's Badli area on Friday morning, three members of a gang who used to loot bank ATMs were apprehended, police said. Sahib (22) and Shakil (20), both of Mewat district in Haryana, and Abid (20), of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan, have been identified as the suspects, they added. The police set up a trap after obtaining information that the accused would come to the Badli police station area to steal an ATM.

The accused opened fire on the officers. In retaliation, the cops opened fire. According to authorities, a gunshot struck Sahib in the leg, and all three suspects were apprehended. The accused had come to do a recce of an ATM, it was revealed during interrogation.

According to a senior police official, the group had previously committed similar robberies. The group had previously looted ATMs in south Delhi, Haryana's Karnal, and even Chennai. According to the police, the group recently robbed an ATM in the Alipur area..
