New Delhi: On March 23, the Delhi Police registered 100 FIRs under Section 188 of the IPC while taking action during the lock-down. There is a lockdown in the 30 states and union territories of the country including Delhi to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection across the country, but still some people are not able to get out of the houses.

On March 23, while taking action against those who left the house without reason, Delhi Police arrested 490 people under Delhi Police Act- 65. 340 vehicles were seized under Delhi Police Act 66. Delhi Police registered 100 FIRs under IPC-188. Section 188 of the IPC says that if a person deliberately messes with the life, health and safety of a person, he can be imprisoned for a minimum of six months and a fine of up to one thousand rupees.

Under this law, if a person runs away from a hospital or elsewhere, action is also taken against him. The number of corona patients has increased to 471 in the country so far. According to the Ministry of Health, 34 of these patients have fully recovered while 9 people have died.
