New Delhi: Former JNU student Sharjeel Imam, who was arrested in connection with the 2020 Delhi riots case, has now made a big claim. Imam says he has been attacked in jail, abused in the name of search and called a terrorist and anti-national. In such a situation, Sharjeel Imam has moved the Delhi court citing a threat to his life.

Sharjeel Imam has filed the application in court through his lawyer Ahmed Ibrahim. He says he has been attacked and assaulted in jail. It is alleged that other inmates of the jail misbehaved with him. They threw away his clothes and his books. When Sharjeel opposed it, he was called a terrorist and anti-national.

Let us know that, at present, the Delhi court has accepted the petition of Sharjeel Imam. The case is scheduled to come up for hearing on July 14. Through the application, it has been appealed that CCTV footage of the incident that took place in the jail should be kept completely safe. Further action will be taken on the basis of that footage.
