BJP victory confirmed, Delhi secretariat sealed owing to security concerns

Election commission shows BJP’s landslide victory in Delhi Legislative elections 2025. The party is set to regain power forming government in the capital after a period of 27 years. At present, BJP is leading with 48 seats, restricting AAP to only 22 seats. AAP’s dream of returning to power for the third consecutive term was shattered by BJP.

Amidst BJP’s triumph, the Delhi Secretariat has been sealed temporarily ensuring security and safety of records. It issued an order stating the closing it enforcing it for the Secretariat offices and camp offices of Council of Ministers and in-charges of both the offices. The order is signed by joint secretary of General Administration Department (GAD) Pradeep Tayal.

The General Administration Department (GAD) of Delhi Government issued the notice which reads, “To address security concerns and the safety of records, it is requested that no files/ documents, computer hardware, etc. may be taken outside the Delhi secretariat complex without permission from GAD.

It is therefore directed that necessary directions may be issued to the concerned branch in-charges under the departments/offices situated in Delhi secretariat to ensure safety of records, files, documents, electronic files, etc. under their sections or branches.”

The official data from EC shows that the face of AAP Arvind Kejriwal and the deputy CM Manish Sisodia who lost from their respective seats. While, the outgoing CM Aastishi has emerged victorious for the second time from Kalkaji.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address from the party office today at 8 pm, dedicating the victory to the workers of the BJP.

The sealing of the secretariat comes as a big move, a shocking one for AAP. The order is a significant one as AAP is dealing with corruption charges and other allegations related to liquor scams and money laundering among others. For the allegations it has also been said the BJP Government is likely to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the matter.
