New Delhi: According to a forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), residents of the national capital awoke to a clear sky on Tuesday, which is expected to turn partly cloudy later in the afternoon or evening.

This week's weather will be a mix of clear and partly cloudy skies. The maximum temperature for the day is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 15 degrees, according to the IMD. At 8.30 a.m., the relative humidity was recorded at 87 percent. The maximum temperature was 31 degrees Celsius on Monday, with a low of 14.5 degrees. At 5.30 p.m., the relative humidity was 57 percent.

On the front of air quality, Delhi's AQI remains in the 'very poor' category, with levels of PM 2.5 and PM 10 pollutants at 128 and 256, respectively. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the city's overall AQI is 306.

Due to unfavourable transport winds, crop residue burning emissions account for only about 7 percent of PM2.5 emissions (Effective fire count 3,971). The presence of a shallow mixing layer height reduces pollutant dispersion, according to the IMD.
