New Delhi: Delhiites are set to get three new hospitals next year. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Tuesday held a review meeting with public works department (PWD) officials over the construction work of hospitals. These hospitals are being built at Jwalapuri, Madipur and Hastsal (Vikaspuri). Construction of a hospital is also underway at Siraspur, which will be ready by 2024. The total bed capacity of these four hospitals is 3,237. Each hospital in Jwalapuri, Madipur and Hastsal (Vikaspuri) will have a capacity of 691 beds. The work of hospitals being constructed at Jwalapuri and Madipur has been completed by 50 per cent.
The construction of these three hospitals will be completed by 2023. At the same time, 50 per cent of the work of the 11-storey hospital being built in Siraspur with a capacity of 1,164 beds has been completed. Due to the corona epidemic and the stoppage of construction due to pollution in winter, its construction has been delayed, but at the beginning of 2024, this hospital will also be ready. The meeting also discussed the progress of Indira Gandhi Hospital, Dwarka Sector-9 and 7 new semi-permanent hospitals being built with a capacity of 6,836 ICU beds.
The Deputy CM directed that the construction work of all the hospitals should be completed in time. All standards of quality should be ensured. He said the Kejriwal government's aim is to provide better health facilities to all its citizens, in this direction the new hospitals being built in Delhi will prove to be a milestone.
