New Delhi: There is good news for wine enthusiasts in the national capital Delhi. The Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi has now reduced the number of dry days under its new excise policy. Earlier, there were 21 dry days in the whole year. But now there will be only three days of dry-day in Delhi. A new rule has been put in place. Due to this, there is a wave of happiness among those who spill the jam.

The order issued by the Kejriwal government said that licensed liquor and opium shops will remain closed only on Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15) and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2). Under the provisions of Delhi Excise Rules 2010 (52), the sale of liquor will not be allowed in Delhi-NCR on 26 January, 15 August and 2 October in the year 2022. Along with this, the Excise Department said that even on the day of dry-day, hotel operators with L-15 licenses will be able to serve liquor to the guests in their rooms. However, it has also been said in the order that other than these three dry days, the government can declare any day in the year as 'dry-day' according to the circumstances.

Let us know that the Delhi government had given the green signal to the new excise policy in November last year. which is effective from November 17. Let us know that many rules have been amended in the new excise policy. Under the government's new excise policy, three to four liquor shops are opening in each ward. Earlier, there were 79 such wards where there was not a single liquor shop. Till last year, there used to be dry days in Delhi on Holi, Diwali, Janmashtami, Muharram, Bakrid, Good Friday, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Dussehra and other festivals.
