New Delhi: Due to increasing pollution, the people of Delhi are troubled. The city's temperature is falling due to deteriorating air quality. Children and the elderly are having problems breathing. In such a situation, a piece of relief news has come out from the Indian Meteorological Department. IMD scientist Vijay Soni has informed that the air quality of the country's capital is expected to improve from today i.e. Sunday evening.

Explain that Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) is around 400. This AQI falls into the severe category. Imd scientist said that Delhiites are expected to get relief from this evening. Speaking to the media, IMD scientist Vijay Soni has informed that the AQI in Delhi this morning was around 400. He said the air quality dropped drastically on Saturday due to calm wind speed. Soni said that the air quality in Delhi is currently in the severe category.

Citing two main reasons for the air quality being in a severe category, Vijay Soni said that the main reason is low wind speed and a decrease in the height of the mixing layer. The height of the mixing layer has come very close to the surface. So these two factors are contributing to the deterioration in air quality. Explain that, the mixing layer is the surface where polluting particles are found in the air. That is if the height of the mixing layer is low, then the particles spreading pollution will be easily found in the air.
