New Delhi: The heat has started showing its attitude in the country's capital, Delhi, and nearby NCR areas. With the rising heat of the sun, there is an alert for heat waves in Delhi for the next few days. However, due to western disturbances in the month of April this year, the weather changed and rain activities were seen, due to which the weather remained pleasant. Along with this, there was relief from heat and heatstroke.

At the same time, along with the increase in heat in Delhi, the Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of a heat wave soon. IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature in Delhi will reach 40 degrees Celsius today, i.e., on April 16. On April 17, the temperature can reach up to 41 degrees. After that, rain activities can be seen starting on April 18. Due to this, the maximum temperature can be recorded up to 41 degrees and the minimum up to 22 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of drizzle or light rain in the afternoon of April 18 in Delhi. While it can remain partly cloudy during the day.

Due to this, the maximum temperature can remain at 40 and the minimum at 22 degrees. There is a possibility of thunderstorms on April 19. Also, with light rain, the maximum temperature on April 20 can be 38 degrees Celsius. No special respite from the heat is expected in Delhi from May 18 to 20 amid light rain. According to IMD, when the maximum temperature in the plains is more than 40 degrees and 4.5 degrees above normal, the Meteorological Department declares a heat wave. If the maximum temperature is more than 40 degrees and 6.4 degrees above normal, then it is considered a severe heat wave. In such a situation, there can be a possibility of heat stroke with the temperature reaching 40 degrees.
