HAVANA: This week, at least three US lawmakers traveled to Havana and met with the Cuban leadership, according to US and Cuban officials.

On Sunday, representatives James McGovern (D-MA), Mark Pocan (D-WI) and Troy Carter (D-LA) met with Cuban President Miguel Dazs-Canel, according to the US Embassy in Cuba . , and the foreign minister of the country.

In recent years the number of these visits to the island has been very low. Although there were few official details about the topics discussed, Daz-Canel and the Cuban Congress tweeted photos of the meetings.

Rep. McGovern can be seen shaking hands with the Cuban president in one photo, while the politician is meeting with other Cuban officials in another.
