Rail services across North India have been significantly disrupted due to dense fog and poor visibility, with 14 trains reported running behind schedule as of Saturday morning. The foggy weather has continued to affect train operations over the past several days, causing widespread delays ranging from 30 minutes to more than two hours.

 

Severe weather conditions, marked by dense fog and poor visibility, have thrown rail services across North India into disarray. As of Saturday morning, 14 trains were reported running behind schedule, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. The foggy conditions, persistent over the past several days, have impacted train schedules, with delays ranging from half an hour to over two hours.

Train Delays at a Glance

Many trains facing delays which include the Gorakhdham Express, running 120 minutes late, and the Kaifiyat Express, delayed by 45 minutes. Other affected trains are:

  • Vikramshila Express: 50 minutes late
  • S Kranti Superfast Express: 30 minutes late
  • Anvt Humsafar Express: 57 minutes late
  • Jalianwala B Express: 68 minutes late
  • Padmavat Express: 59 minutes late
  • Satyagrah Express: 56 minutes late
  • Nauchandi Express: 85 minutes late
  • Ap Express: 97 minutes late
  • Gondwana SF Express: 138 minutes late
  • MP Sampark Kranti Express: 36 minutes late
  • NZM Humsafar Express: 61 minutes late

These delays have caused inconvenience to passengers traveling in the region, as rail traffic continues to struggle under the impact of weather conditions.

Delhi Weather Update

The weather in Delhi has also been challenging, with the minimum temperature recorded at 12 degrees Celsius and the maximum at 19 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Recent heavy rainfall has further impacted the region, with the city recording its highest December rainfall in 15 years, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The rains, which began early Thursday and persisted throughout Friday, brought some relief to Delhi's air quality. Visibly, the improvement was marginal, the air quality index shown in the 'very poor' category. The Air Quality Index stood at 355 as of 2.00 PM, as reported by the Central Pollution Control Board.

The dense fog and poor visibility continue to disrupt rail traffic and daily life in North India. Passengers are advised to stay updated on train schedules and prepare for possible delays as weather conditions remain unpredictable.
