Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Excise Department in the case of the famous liquor scam of the Indian state of Haryana. He has clarified that the papers that the SET had asked for have been given. The SET had asked for 8 documents from us, which were made available to them within the stipulated time frame.
In his statement, he said that we were asked how many gate passes were cut and how many movements were made by the department within the last one year. It does not come under the scrutiny of SET. Nevertheless, we have told the investigating officer that this is not the data that can be given within the time limit. The same data will be given in the preview of SET.
In a special conversation with the media, Dushyant said that former MLA Satvindra Rana is not part of the SET investigation. Rana was caught in a 2016 case. It was at that time that someone was arrested. Rana was caught after his statement. He was later sent to judicial custody. Satvindra Rana has nothing to do with the scope of the investigation of the SET. He said that no matter what speculation about this case, but I have no quarrel with Home Minister Anil Vij. Neither Mera and Vij have any role in SET. The SET has been formed by the Chief Minister. Senior officers of both departments have been kept. An ACS was installed. After that investigation started.
