In the midst of the coronavirus, Tamil Nadu health secretary has been replaced. State Health Secretary Bila Rajesh has been transferred, Commercial Taxes and Registration Department by the state government on Friday. Now J Radhakrishnan (IAS) has been appointed as the State Health Secretary.

The news came out after a public (special A) department issued the notice this morning. In the notice, the following transfers and postings are notified (i) Secretary to the Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr Nila Rajesh is transferred and appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Government, Commercial Taxes and Registration Department. Dr J. Radhakrishnan, IAS, appoints the Principal Secretary / Commissioner of Revenue Administration as the Principal Secretary of the Government, Health and Family Welfare Department.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the total number of coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu is now 38716, out of the total cases reported so far, there are 17662 active cases. Out of the infected cases, 20705 people have been cured or they have been discharged/displaced from the hospital. 344 people have died due to corona in the state. According to the information given by the Union Health Ministry, there are 141842 active cases of coronavirus in the country at this time. Out of total cases, 147194 infected people have been cured so far. A8498 people have died due to the virus.
