Lucknow: Sandeep Singh, the private secretary of the National General Secretary of Congress Party Priyanka Gandhi, has filed a petition before the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Friday for anticipatory bail on the bus dispute. A single bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan has summoned the case diary from the police and has fixed the date of June 17 for the next hearing.

Sandeep's lawyers JN Mathur and Nadeem Murtaza told the court that this is not a criminal case and the FIR, in this case, has been conducted under political vendetta. In the last month (May), the police had filed a case against Sandeep Singh and UP Congress unit president Ajay Kumar. They were accused that fake documents were presented in the list of 1,000 buses that the Congress Party had provided to bring back migrant workers. A case was filed against Sandeep Singh, Ajay and others at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.

He is in jail in a bus dispute case. He was arrested in Agra on May 20 for illegally staging a sit-in protest, but got bail the same day. However, soon after that the Lucknow police arrested him in another case.
