Accusing the law and order situation in UP on Friday, opposition parties in the Legislative Council made sharp attacks on the government. Heinous criminal incidents like the Bikeru scandal and Sanjit Yadav massacre in Kanpur, the murder of a minor girl in Lakhimpur Kheri, the attacks on the Dalits in Pratapgarh and the murder of the village head in Azamgarh have been cited. The SP, BSP and Congress put the government in the dock. The same Leader of the House Dr. Dinesh Sharma, citing the data, tried to prove that there has been a decrease in crimes in the Yogi regime compared to the BSP and SP government.

Naresh Chandra Uttam of Samajwadi Party said that even after two months of the murder of Sanjit Yadav in Government Kanpur, his body could not be recovered. The report of Deoria Shelter Home case has not been revealed till date. Deepak Singh of the Congress said that the officials in the BJP government are requesting to save themselves. Two dozen journalists including Vikram Joshi have been murdered in the state. It was pointed out that a half-encounter of the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA took place inside the police station in Aligarh.

SP's Ram Sundar Das Nishad said that during the rule of the government which gave the slogan of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the girls are being brutally murdered after being looted. The BSP's Dinesh Chandra and Suresh Kashyap raised questions on law and order while referring to other killings including the village head in Azamgarh. Told that under the guise of Bikeru scandal, the government is persecuting the Brahmins. Opposition parties demanded that the work be stopped in the House on the matter of law and order and to be consulted.
