The name of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President and second President of independent India has been written in golden letters in the history of India. He was a great scholar of Philosophy and introduced Western thinking in Indian Philosophy. Radhakrishnan was also a famous teacher, which is why Teachers' Day is also celebrated every year on the 5th of September in his memory.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on 5 September 1888 in a small village in Tamil Nadu in a Brahmin family. Dr. Radhakrishnan's father's name was Sarvepalli Veera Swamy. He was certainly poor but quite a learned Brahmin. His father had the responsibility of the whole family, due to which Radhakrishnan did not get much comfort since childhood. Radhakrishnan married his distant cousin Sivakamu at the age of 16. With whom he had 5 daughters and a son. His son's name is Sarvepalli Gopal. Who was also a great historical factor of India. Radha Krishna's wife died in 1956. VVS Laxman, the great player of the Indian cricket team, belongs to the same family.

In the meantime, when India got independence, Jawaharlal Nehru urged Radha-Krishnan to fulfil political tasks with the Soviet Union as a special ambassador. Following Nehru's point of view, Dr Radhakrishnan served as a member of the Constituent Assembly from 1947 to 1949. Everyone in the Parliament praised his work and behaviour more. After his travel academy career, he stepped into politics and also served as the Vice President of the country from 13 May 1952 to 13 May 1965. After this, on 13 May 1965, he became the second elected President of India. His tenure proved to be quite challenging as compared to Rajendra Prasad. Because while on the one hand there was a situation of war with China and Pakistan of India, in this India had to face defeat with China. On the other hand, 2 Prime Ministers also died during his tenure.
